bremer bay
What a quiet little town Bremer Bay is! It has everything you need but on more of a smaller, laid back scale. The one thing that isn't small, is the stunning ocra that breed here.
We are most definitely obsessed with the beaches on the south-west coast of WA! The crystal clear waters, a sight we will never get sick of seeing, especially after going inland to visit Wave Rock! Bremer Bay oozes slow seaside vibes, with leafy streets, sandy soil and morning kookaburra calls. It’s quiet with not much around, just the essentials like a post office, supermarket, pharmacy, fuel stations, cafe and brewery. Oh, and another Big Thing to visit! The Big Mermaid! We stayed at Bremer Bay Beaches Resort Tourist Park. It was a little out of town but on the road to all of the stunning beaches and the jetty at Fisheries Beach. The service here was very friendly, with the groundskeeper assisting each van onto their site. Our warriors loved the jumping castle and massive lawn area to kick a ball around.
We spent our days exploring and swimming at the many stunning beaches. Our faves would have to be Blossoms Beach and John Cove Beach! We contemplated as to whether we would do the whale watching cruise to see the beautiful orcas who call this coastline home from January to April, but once we found out that it was an 8hr cruise in open waters, our tummies thanked us when we opted to watch Free Willy in the van instead (even though we were a blubbery mess).
Bremer Bay Brewery was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and is kid-friendly. We also visited The Telegraph on Bremer for a delish breakkie, and couldn’t resist the homemade sausage-rolls and pies from The Roadhouse - Hooked and Cooked! This came highly recommended from locals and regular visitors to the area.
The Noongar people are the traditional custodians of this Country. Just before the rain was finding its way to Bremer, it was time for us to leave. Our lovely neighbours gave us a heads up that the little coffee shop at Wellstead Community Resource Centre called The Whisper Coffee Shop is the perfect stop for morning tea when heading to Albany and Denmark. Unfortunately when we visited, it was closed. Perhaps a treat for next time we visit!
